MDIA students selected as National Association of Television Program Executives interns

ATHENS, OH (Nov. 17, 2008)—Two students in the School of Media Arts and Studies have been selected to work at the National Association of Television Program Executives conference in Las Vegas. Sophomore media management majors Lauren Holz and Emily Norton both qualified for the January internship.

“I am very excited that I was chosen to be an intern at NATPE because I think it will be a rewarding experience,” said Norton. “It will be a great networking opportunity and will be very educational.”

The NATPE conference will be held Jan. 26- 29, and the interns will begin most of their work during the preconference on Jan. 23.  The pair will help with information, registration, seminar seating and publication distribution. The interns will also have the opportunity to sit in on lectures and seminars.

“I am looking forward to meeting men and women who have been involved in the industry for years and other interns from around the country,” said Holz. “It’s a great chance to be around people with the same interests and goals as me.”

The conference brings more than 7,000 industry leaders together to attend seminars as well as take part in the buying and selling of television programming. Many shows seen on television are purchased at NATPE.
