Jana Hovland joined the Dean's Office staff in August 2007 as Curriculum Specialist for the NIH-SEPA funded FoodMASTER grant. Her primary responsibility is to develop and revise FoodMaster curriculum and support teachers implementing the curriculum in their third-grade classrooms. In this role, she conducts schools site visits through southeast Ohio and regularly communicates with participating teachers.
In addition, she coordinates data collection for the grant.
Previously Jana was employed as clinical dietitian for Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.
Jana earned a bachelor's degree in Human and Consumer Sciences from Ohio University. She completed a dietetic internship at Virginia Tech and is currently working on her master's degree in Nutrition from East Carolina University.
