  • The E. W. Scripps School of Journalism is ranked among the top 5 nationally by Writer's Digest and among the top 10 nationally by the Associated Press Managing Editors Association.
  • The J. Warren McClure School of Information and Telecommunication Systems is the only non-NASA site in the world hosting two NASA ACTS Satellite Earth Stations.
  • The Institute for International Journalism hosts internationally known speakers and oversees foreign correspondence internships with the Associated Press in Rome, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Caracas and Jerusalem.
  • The School of Media Arts and Studies offers fully-equipped production studios and editing suites as well as field production equipment for audio, video and multimedia applications.
  • The E. W. Scripps School of Journalism's Scripps Howard Teaching Fellows Program trains veteran journalists seeking advanced academic degrees while providing undergraduate students with top-notch professionals as classroom teachers.
  • The J. Warren McClure School's program of Information and Telecommunication Systems is the first of its kind in the state and the second nationally to offer a bachelor's degree in the field.
  • With the help of 200 student workers, the WOUB Center for Public Media operates five public radio stations, two public television stations and one cable television station, serving more than 60 counties in Southeastern Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky.
  • Each year the faculty, students and alumni of the School of Communication Studies give more than 200 presentations at the National Communication Association Conference.
  • School of Visual Communication students were the Hearst Foundation Photojournalism Competition grand champions for two of the last three years. The school has more grand champions than any other school in the history of the Hearst program.
  • Nearly 100 percent of Information and Telecommunication Systems graduates are employed full time or enrolled full time in graduate school.
  • The Scripps College offers nearly 3000 internship opportunities at companies such as Procter & Gamble, National Geographic, NBC, CNN, The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.com, The Ohio News Network, The Cincinnati Post, Scripps Howard, The Columbus Dispatch, The Cleveland Clinic and The Cincinnati Enquirer.
  • School of Visual Communication students are consistent winners in the University of Missouri College Photographer of the Year award program.
  • The Forensics Team in the School of Communication Studies has won three team championships and 16 top-ten finishes in National Forensics Association tournaments.
  • Support from the Scripps Howard Foundation creates exclusive opportunities in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, including internships with the Scripps Howard News Bureau in Washington, D.C.
