- Meghan Louttit, a senior in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, has been named co-managing editor of Scoop08, the first daily online student newspaper devoted to coverage of the 2008 presidential election.
- School of Communication Studies undergraduate students Paul Pearson and Leah Sell, together with Professor Roger Aden, co-authored “Townies: How college students define social space through socially constructed representations of others,” which was named the top paper in the Social Construction of Communication division at the National Communication Association conference in November. Other students in Aden’s Communication Theory class completed research and analyzed data for the project.
- Senior video production major Susan Plungis and junior broadcast journalism major Alissa Griffith were recently awarded 2008-2009 Broadcast Education Association scholarships. No other school in the nation had more than one winner.
